Pearls of Peace is a women's community and development group which was established in 2009 and run by a group of dedicated Muslim ladies.
We hold inclusive events to break down existing barriers, build bridges within the community and encourage positive communication and community cohesion.
Pearls of Peace has worked hard since its establishment and built positive relationships with many statutory establishment in order to give the community a voice. We work with The Police, West Northamptonshire Council, Social Services, and schools. We liase with Northamptonshire Rights and Equality Council (NREC), Northampton Interfaith Forum (NIFF) and where necessary, we link with Northampton Bangladeshi Association (NBA) and other local community groups.
We offer emotional support, deal with family matters, interpersonal violence issues and hate crime reporting as well as consumer issues, school applications and form filling. We also offer a referral service to Zenith Immigration Lawyers Ltd for immigration advice and support. Pearls of Peace signposts those in need of cancer support, welfare and housing advice to the Central and East Northamptonshire Citizens Advice (CENCA).
Pearls of Peace provides an informative and enjoyable 'ladies only' weekly coffee morning - an opportunity for women to meet up and find out what is happening in the wider society. A variety of activities are available during coffee mornings including presentations, providing advice and information, cooking demonstration, sewing activities, discussions and product demonstrations. Children are welcome and have lots of toys to share with their friends.
Coffee mornings are held every Wednesday between 11am - 1.00pm (term time only) at St James Community Centre, 144 St James Road, Northampton, NN5 5LQ.
